## The story

In 2005, a 21-year-old student named Alex Tew sold a million pixels for $1 each, in blocks of 10 × 10, to pay for university. The page sold out within months and became part of internet history. The Million Dollar Homepage is still online at https://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/

Someone paid $1,600 for this block and linked it to guzzleclub.com, with this line:

> “All the beer, wine, cheese and other delicacies you can guzzle...”
